A Trump ally allegedly pressured DHS to return devices seized from the Tates, raising concerns over political interference in a sex trafficking investigation.
Paul Ingrassia, a Trump ally and former White House liaison to DHS, is accused of pushing for the return of electronic devices seized from Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan after their February 2025 arrival in Florida, according to a ProPublica report.
The request, allegedly made on behalf of the White House, raised concerns among DHS officials about political interference in a federal probe into the brothers’ alleged sex trafficking offenses in the U.K., Romania, and the U.S. Ingrassia denied involvement, and the White House and DHS declined to comment.
The Tates have not been charged in the U.S. and continue to deny all allegations.
