Thirteen-year-old Yu Zidi won three golds and a silver at the National Games, setting an Asian record in the 200m individual medley.
At the 15th National Games in Shenzhen, 13-year-old swimmer Yu Zidi won three golds, one silver, and one bronze, including a new Asian record in the women’s 200m individual medley with a time of 2:07.41.
She also earned silver in the 200m butterfly, finishing ahead of Olympic champion Zhang Yufei, and placed fourth in two other individual medley events.
Her standout performances at such a young age have established her as a top prospect in Chinese swimming.
