A Sydney man was sentenced to 20 months for a 41-minute anti-Semitic attack involving arson and vandalism.
Mohommed Farhat, 21, was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison for leading a 41-minute anti-Semitic attack in Sydney’s Woollahra suburb on November 20, 2024, and will be released on parole on December 6.
The attack involved arson, vandalism, and anti-Semitic graffiti on ten vehicles and four buildings, including a fire station and a restaurant.
Farhat, who used his Uber account to return home after the attack, was identified through digital and CCTV evidence.
His accomplice, Thomas Stojanovski, remains on bail.
The incident is part of a broader wave of anti-Semitic attacks in Sydney, with Australia’s national security agency ASIO indicating Iran may have been behind at least two similar incidents.
Farhat was ordered to pay $5,324 in compensation.
No motive was established in court.
