Andrew Cosenza Jr., owner of The Bistro at Cherry Hill in New Jersey, has been indicted on tax fraud charges for allegedly failing to remit over $270,000 in sales taxes collected from customers during 2021 and 2022.
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office announced the indictment, citing discrepancies between reported sales and actual tax payments.
Cosenza faces multiple counts including filing false tax returns and failing to turn over collected taxes.
If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and fines up to $150,000.
The case stems from a joint investigation by the Division of Taxation and the Division of Criminal Justice.
Cosenza, who previously filed for bankruptcy, has not commented, and no defense attorney has been listed.
