A man was shot dead by police during a highway chase after fleeing on domestic abuse charges and firing at officers.
Benjamin Sink, a 47-year-old Waterloo man, was shot and killed by law enforcement during a high-speed chase along Highway 20 on Sunday night after fleeing deputies on domestic abuse-related charges.
After being stopped, he exited his vehicle armed and fired at officers, prompting a response that resulted in his death.
No officers were injured, and all involved have been placed on administrative leave.
