Catastrophic rains and flooding in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province from January to September 2025 caused at least 631 deaths and 429 injuries, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority.
The fatalities included 239 children, while 7,153 livestock died and thousands of homes and 796 school buildings were damaged or destroyed.
Widespread flooding, triggered by the monsoon season starting June 25, hit areas with poor drainage, causing major infrastructure damage and displacement.
Nationally, at least 853 people have died and over 1,000 injured from rain-related incidents since the monsoon began.
