On November 15, 2025, the Disabled Surfers Association held its first event at Mollymook Beach, New South Wales, bringing together 50 participants with disabilities—many new to surfing—and 150 volunteers.
Organized by the DSA, founded in 1986, the day featured volunteers assisting participants in entering the water, riding waves, and gaining confidence, with some standing on boards.
The event, requiring no surfing experience, emphasized inclusivity and empowerment.
