A California couple convicted of murdering their two children and forcing younger siblings to witness the bodies.
A Lancaster, California, couple, Maurice Jewel Taylor, 39, and Natalie Sumiko Brothwell, 48, have been convicted of first-degree murder and child abuse for the stabbing and decapitation of their 13-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son on November 29, 2020.
Prosecutors said the couple forced their two younger sons, ages 8 and 9, to stay in their bedrooms without food while viewing the bodies.
The case came to light after a Zoom session missed by Taylor raised concerns.
Both were arrested in late 2020 and 2021.
They face life in prison without parole plus six years and four months at sentencing on January 13, 2026.
The motive remains unknown.
