Azhar Ali resigns from PCB roles after brief tenure amid 2024 selection controversies.
Former Pakistan cricket captain Azhar Ali has resigned from his roles as national team selector and Head of Youth Development at the PCB, though the board has not issued an official statement.
His departure, effective November 2025, ends a brief tenure in both positions, following controversial selection decisions in 2024 that contributed to a 2-1 series win over England.
Azhar, a former Test captain and Pakistan’s fifth-highest all-time run-scorer, played 97 Tests and 53 ODIs from 2010 to 2022.
The PCB has not explained the reasons for his resignation or outlined plans for replacements.
