A second bill strengthens oversight by giving the Licensed Building Practitioners Registrar enhanced disciplinary powers, requiring public disclosure of suspended practitioners, and introducing Codes of Ethics.
Both bills aim to support skilled tradespeople, reduce red tape, and improve trust in the construction sector.
A similar self-certification bill for building companies is expected in 2026.
