Kingcade pleads guilty in DeKalb shooting during failed Facebook Marketplace robbery; two others already convicted, two suspects still charged.
A third suspect, Kingcade, has pleaded guilty to his role in a fatal shooting during an attempted Facebook Marketplace robbery in DeKalb, Illinois, where victim Whitehead died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The purchaser who shot Whitehead was not charged, as his firearm was legally owned and his actions were deemed self-defense.
In exchange for Kingcade’s plea, prosecutors agreed to a maximum 21-year sentence, with sentencing set for January 9.
Two others, Branscumb and Williams, both 20, previously pleaded guilty to armed robbery, with Branscumb sentenced to 22 years and Williams awaiting sentencing.
Two additional suspects remain charged.
