GlobalFoundries has acquired Singapore’s Advanced Micro Foundry to become the world’s largest silicon photonics manufacturer, expanding its capabilities in optical data transmission for AI data centers and advanced computing.
The deal, without disclosed financial terms, enables the company to scale production, enhance R&D, and establish a new research center in Singapore with A*STAR.
