Deputy Sam Earman, a 10-year veteran of the Indian River County Sheriff's Office and son of County Commissioner Joe Earman, was arrested and fired on stalking and criminal misuse of agency computers charges.
The investigation, launched in early October after a woman reported being stalked, revealed Earman engaged in physical and cyberstalking, including driving near her home outside his patrol area, sending inappropriate messages, and using department resources to access her personal information.
A search of his personal cellphone uncovered disturbing content and evidence of contact with other potential victims.
He is being held on a $30,000 bond.
Authorities are urging anyone who has had contact with him to come forward.
