Cowboys benched Lamb and Pickens for first series over undisclosed discipline, but they returned to help win 33-16.
Dallas Cowboys wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens were benched for the first offensive series of their Monday night game against the Raiders, according to coach Brian Schottenheimer, who cited undisclosed disciplinary reasons.
The move, confirmed by ESPN’s Lisa Salters as a coaching decision not related to injury, sparked speculation about team accountability.
Both players returned for the second drive and played key roles in the Cowboys’ 33-16 victory, with Pickens recording 144 yards and a touchdown and Lamb adding 66 yards and a score.
Schottenheimer did not elaborate on the nature of the discipline, and neither player addressed the benching in postgame comments.
