Antonio Brown faces up to 30 years for allegedly firing a gun at a Miami boxing event, denying claims he attacked first.
Antonio Brown, 37, could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of attempted murder with a firearm in a Miami shooting during a May 16 boxing event, prosecutors said in a November 17 court hearing.
Brown, who played 12 NFL seasons with Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay, including a Super Bowl win, appeared virtually in a Miami-Dade court, pleaded not guilty, and was released on a $25,000 bond with a GPS ankle monitor.
Prosecutors allege he took a gun from a security guard and fired two shots after a fistfight, injuring victim Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, whose neck was grazed.
Brown’s attorney disputes the account, saying Brown used his own gun and was defending himself from an attack and attempted jewelry theft.
A status hearing is set for December 22, with no trial date scheduled.
