A woman died in Edmonton after being hit by a car at a crosswalk; the driver stayed at the scene and was not injured.
A 58-year-old woman died Saturday in Edmonton after being struck by a southbound 2024 Nissan Rogue while crossing a marked crosswalk at 153 Avenue and 82 Street.
The collision occurred around 8:57 a.m. as the vehicle turned left; the woman, who was walking her dog, suffered life-threatening injuries and died later that day.
The 36-year-old driver remained at the scene and was not injured.
Police confirmed alcohol and speed were not factors, and the major collision investigations section is probing the incident.
The woman’s dog was found unharmed.
This marks the 30th traffic fatality in Edmonton for 2025.
