Viasat will launch a faster, global in-flight Wi-Fi system for JetXP using LEO and GEO satellites by late 2027.
Viasat is upgrading in-flight connectivity for JetXP users by combining Telesat Lightspeed LEO satellites with its existing GEO network, including ViaSat-3 satellites, to deliver faster, more reliable service with lower latency.
The multi-orbit system, launching commercially in late 2027, will use a new flat-panel electronically steered antenna and offer improved performance for video conferencing and cloud apps.
It will provide global coverage, including Arctic regions via Inmarsat’s HEO satellites starting in 2026, and will be managed through Viasat’s AI-powered iQe quality-of-experience system.
The service will be available on select JetXP plans without requiring multiple subscriptions.
