Timothée Chalamet has confirmed he finished filming Dune: Part Three, the final film in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy, four days before a public event at Fairfax High School.
The movie, set for release on December 18, 2026, will adapt elements from Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah and possibly Children of Dune, featuring a time jump and new characters played by Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke.
Chalamet described the role of Paul Atreides as transformative and emotionally impactful.
Production began in July 2025 and lasted about four months.
The film will be titled Dune: Part Three, not Dune: Messiah.
