The Supreme Court will hear a petition calling for a judicial probe into a ₹31,580 crore banking fraud linked to Reliance Communications and Anil Ambani.
The Supreme Court will hear a public interest litigation seeking a court-monitored probe into alleged massive banking fraud involving Reliance Communications, its group companies, and former promoter Anil Ambani.
Filed by former Union secretary EAS Sarma and supported by advocate Prashant Bhushan, the petition claims systemic financial misconduct, including fund diversion, account fabrication, and use of shell companies, with a State Bank of India forensic audit revealing ₹31,580 crore in questionable loans between 2013 and 2017.
The petition argues current investigations by CBI and ED are inadequate and requests judicial oversight to examine all forensic findings, insolvency proceedings, and cross-border transactions.
The case is set for hearing on November 18, 2025.
