flag Subaru’s limited BRZ STI Sport Type RA, with 300 Japan-only units, features a tuned engine, lightweight parts, and performance upgrades.

Subaru has launched the limited-edition BRZ STI Sport Type RA in Japan, with only 300 units produced. Based on a Super Taikyu racing BRZ, it features a revised 2.4-liter naturally aspirated flat-four engine, now called a "balanced boxer," with tighter tolerances for smoother operation without increased power. Key upgrades include a 67% lighter flywheel, improved transmission with rev-matching and flat-foot upshifting, ZF dampers, stiffer strut bars, 18-inch forged wheels, STI performance parts, Brembo brakes with gold calipers, and a Torsen limited-slip differential. A carbon-fibre rear wing is on 100 units; the rest are wingless. Priced from ¥4.97 million (~A$49,230) to ¥5.48 million (~A$54,250), it's available only via lottery and not sold outside Japan.
