Police in Urbana are seeking public help identifying a suspect in an attempted robbery at Exotics Smoke Shop on November 7, around 8:15 p.m. The suspect, a Black male wearing a black mask and all-black clothing, entered the store at 110 E. University Ave., demanded items from a vape display case, and brandished a handgun. After being told surveillance cameras were recording, he fled on foot, leaving behind a black plaster cast on his left hand and fingers. No injuries occurred. Authorities have not made an arrest and are urging anyone with information to contact Champaign County Crime Stoppers, offering anonymous tips and possible rewards up to $2,500 for gun-related felony arrests.
