Scott Loeffer, 39, was charged with armed robbery after allegedly threatening a female staffer with a knife and stealing her iPhone during a break-in at Illinois Senate President Don Harmon’s Oak Park office on Friday, November 14, 2025.
The incident occurred at the senator’s district office on North Avenue.
The staffer was not physically injured.
Harmon, a Democrat, stated the event does not appear to be politically motivated and praised the Oak Park Police Department for their swift response and his staff for their courage.
Loeffer is in custody, and no further details about his motives or background were released.
