India ends election rules in seven states and one UT after 2025 polls; BJP-led NDA wins in Bihar.
The Election Commission of India has lifted the Model Code of Conduct in seven states and one Union Territory, including Bihar, after completing the 2025 legislative assembly elections and bypolls.
The code, in effect since October 6, was extended until November 16 to ensure order during vote counting and result declaration.
In Bihar, the National Democratic Alliance won 202 of 243 seats, with the BJP securing 89.
The opposition Mahagathbandhan won 35 seats, and smaller parties claimed the rest.
