A Guyanese logger died after a tree branch fell on him during a work operation.
A 63-year-old logger, Chris Hall, known as “Chatch,” died on Saturday after a tree branch fell on him at a logging site on Mabura Road near 43 Miles in Guyana’s Upper Demerara River region.
Hall, a skidder operator from Soesdyke, was pronounced dead at Linden Hospital Complex following the incident.
His body was taken to the Pensioners Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Guyanese police are investigating the cause of the branch’s fall, with no further details released.
The death adds to a pattern of logging-related fatalities in the country.
