Aston Bay and American West found a major copper deposit in Nunavut, with high-grade copper confirmed and a large anomaly identified.
Aston Bay Holdings and American West Metals have discovered a 4.1-kilometer-long copper anomaly, named the Chevron Prospect, at the Storm Copper Project on Somerset Island, Nunavut.
Identified through soil geochemistry, it features a 2-kilometer core with copper over 250 parts per million and lies along a major geological trend linked to known deposits.
High-grade copper sulphides were confirmed in drilling at the Squall Prospect, including 4.5 meters at 1.4% copper, and copper mineralization was found in the Tornado area.
The untested site, part of a 20/80 joint venture, is now a top priority for future exploration.
