A 59-year-old Australian woman pleaded guilty to drug possession after police found meth and cannabis in her car.
A 59-year-old West Bathurst woman, Julie Anne Sly, pleaded guilty in September 2025 to possessing methamphetamine and cannabis after being stopped by police in July.
Officers found 14.88 grams of cannabis, 0.43 grams of methamphetamine, and a smoking pipe in her vehicle, though she passed a roadside drug test.
She claimed the drugs were used only once due to a family conflict and denied having a drug problem, but the magistrate rejected this, stating such charges typically involve ongoing issues.
Sly was fined $1,200 and banned from driving for three months.
