Singapore’s Bukit Panjang LRT renewal is 88% complete, with new trains and systems set for 2026 completion.

As of November 16, 2025, Singapore’s Bukit Panjang LRT renewal project is 88% complete and on track for completion by late 2026. The project includes the deployment of 19 new light rail vehicles and 13 upgraded ones, along with a new communications-based train control system that improves ride smoothness and reliability. About 45 meters of power rail are replaced nightly using quieter stud welding, with 17km of track being upgraded. The operations control centre is set to transition to a new facility in a single move to maintain system integrity.
