A Rochester man convicted of felony theft for coercing $3,900 from another man through intimidation.
A 21-year-old Rochester man, Bill Gum Benjamin, has been convicted of felony theft for coercing another man into making multiple ATM withdrawals, taking over $3,900.
Court records show he used intimidation, including physical pressure, to force withdrawals after initially receiving $300 to retrieve a vehicle.
Despite the victim's repeated refusals and discomfort, Benjamin pressured him, promising $14,000 in repayment, which he never delivered.
This follows Benjamin’s earlier conviction for stealing over $41,000 from a vulnerable adult with autism and a separate felony charge involving $6,500 in property damage.
He has entered a plea agreement and is set to be sentenced next month.
