Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) will begin commercial operations on December 25, 2025, with IndiGo and Akasa Air launching flights to multiple Indian cities. IndiGo will serve ten destinations including Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Goa, while Akasa Air will operate flights from Delhi, with plans to expand to Kochi and Ahmedabad. The airport, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October, is designed to ease congestion at Mumbai’s existing airport and support regional growth. It will initially handle 100–110 daily flights and has a capacity for 20 million passengers annually, with plans to expand to 90 million.
