Mohamed Salah will miss Egypt’s friendly against Cape Verde on November 17, 2025, as the Egyptian FA announced he will be rested to manage his fitness ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins December 21.
The 33-year-old Liverpool star, who played 90 minutes in Egypt’s loss to Uzbekistan, is expected to return to action for Liverpool’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on November 22.
His absence is part of a strategic plan to preserve his condition during the international break, with potential absence from up to eight matches if Egypt advances far in AFCON.
Salah has scored four league goals and provided two assists this season, below his previous form, while Liverpool remain eight points behind leaders Arsenal.
