A man died in San Diego after being hit by a car while crossing against a red light; no alcohol or drugs were involved.

A 33-year-old man died Friday night in San Diego after being struck by a BMW while allegedly running east across Hancock Street and Camino Del Rio West against a red "don't walk" signal. The 55-year-old driver, approaching a green light, was not impaired by alcohol. The man was pronounced dead at a hospital. Police confirmed no alcohol or drugs were involved. Authorities are investigating and urge witnesses to contact the San Diego Police Department or Crime Stoppers. A separate fatal pedestrian collision occurred in Vista, also involving a vehicle and no alcohol or drugs.
