Labour MP Brian Leishman vows to keep challenging his party after whip was restored post-suspension over benefits and Grangemouth refinery disputes.
Labour MP Brian Leishman has vowed to keep challenging his party’s leadership after the whip was restored on November 7, following his July suspension over rebellions against benefits reforms and opposition to the closure of the Grangemouth oil refinery, which led to over 400 job losses.
Representing Alloa and Grangemouth, Leishman, along with three other MPs, had sat as independents advocating for workers, public ownership of the site, and social justice.
He criticized the site’s conversion to a fuel import terminal as industrial devastation and continues to push for accelerated development using £200 million from the National Wealth Fund, emphasizing his commitment to fairness, equality, and holding the party accountable to its core values.
El diputado laborista Brian Leishman promete seguir desafiando a su partido después de que el látigo fuera restaurado después de la suspensión por beneficios y disputas con la refinería de Grangemouth.
