Indian authorities shut down a major mephedrone lab in Rajasthan, seizing 8 kg of drugs and arresting five suspects.
The Narcotics Control Bureau and Rajasthan Police dismantled a clandestine mephedrone lab in Daantrai village, Sirohi district, arresting five people including mastermind Vala Ram, a Jalore graduate.
The lab, discovered Nov. 6 after local authorities noticed suspicious materials, had produced 8 kg of mephedrone and contained chemicals capable of making nearly 100 kg, valued at Rs 40 crore.
Forensic tests confirmed drug precursors, and materials were traced to Ankleshwar, Gujarat.
A vehicle used in transport was seized.
The operation, completed in five days, followed NCB’s coordination through monthly NCORD meetings.
The NCB urged public reporting of suspicious activity via the MANAS helpline (1933).
