Ghanaian man accused of stealing phones and tracker at Indian community event in Accra.
A 42-year-old Ghanaian trader, Joshua Agbey, has been remanded in an Accra court after allegedly stealing three phones and a tracker worth GHC38,500 during a September 21, 2025, reception for the Indian Community in Ghana. The victim, an Indian national and accounts manager, reported the theft of a backpack containing an iPhone 16 Pro Max, Samsung A55, Samsung A54, and a tracker. Police traced the tracker to Kasoa Amanfrom, leading to Agbey’s arrest. Though he admitted to entering the event and taking the backpack, he has pleaded not guilty. The case, presided over by Judge Kwabena Kodua Obiri-Yeboah, requires the prosecution to file legal processes. Agbey is set to return to court on November 19, 2025, with further details pending investigation.
