Edo State police arrested 21 students over suspected cult ties after stopping a planned attack on a school.

Edo State police arrested 21 secondary school students, aged 14 to 17, from Ogioma Public Secondary School, over suspected cult involvement following a foiled attack on Osemwende Public Secondary School on November 12, 2025. Operatives from the Loveworld Division intercepted a group arriving on motorcycles, preventing violence. Eight suspects were remanded; 13 were released to parents, who must appear in court on November 28. School principals have been summoned. The operation supports Nigeria’s Safe Schools Initiative.
