A man in his 40s died Friday night in Calgary after driving the wrong way on Sarcee Trail, striking a minivan and then an SUV before being pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash, which occurred around 9 p.m. near the Westgate area, injured three others, including the minivan’s driver and a teen passenger, both treated for minor injuries, and the SUV driver, hospitalized with minor injuries.
Police are investigating possible speed and impairment as contributing factors, reviewing traffic camera footage, and have closed the roadway overnight.
