Belleville firefighters begin annual toy drive for 700–800 children, accepting new, unwrapped gifts and donations through November 16–17.
Belleville firefighters have launched their annual toy drive, a tradition since the 1940s, to support about 700 to 800 local children.
Donations of new, unwrapped toys, books, and games for ages 0 to 12—especially newborn items and gifts for ages 9 to 10—are being collected starting November 17 at fire stations and local businesses including Walmart, Canadian Tire, and Quinte Mall.
Firefighters will also accept donations during the Santa Claus Parade on November 16.
Monetary contributions are welcome.
The drive is part of the Christmas Sharing Program, with fire safety reminders to ensure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are working.
