US 280 at Pumphouse Road closes nightly Nov. 14–17 for bridge work; expect delays.

Starting Friday, November 14, all lanes of US 280 at Pumphouse Road in Jefferson County will close nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Monday, November 17, as part of a bridge widening project involving the installation of new bridge girders. Eastbound lanes remain closed through Monday morning, while westbound lanes reopen daily at 5 a.m. The existing off-ramp and on-ramp stay open. ALDOT urges drivers to use alternate routes like Lakeshore Parkway to I-65 and I-459 to avoid delays, with the full project expected to be completed by Fall 2026.
