Sarnia-Lambton businesses are missing out on provincial grants, prompting a free forum to boost applications.
Businesses in Sarnia-Lambton are underutilizing provincial grant programs, according to Matthew Slotwinski of the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership, who cited low application rates compared to other Ontario communities. To boost participation, the partnership is hosting a free Western Ontario Fall Funders Forum on December 4 at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club, featuring provincial ministry representatives from economic development, tourism, agriculture, labour, and innovation. The event, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., offers local organizations a chance to learn about funding, ask questions, and build relationships with officials. This marks the first time the forum is held in Sarnia-Lambton, following successful events in other regions, with the goal of increasing awareness and grant applications. Registration is available at sarnialambton.on.ca/events.
