The second Rosedale Chimney Bank Hill Challenge in North Yorkshire honored cyclist Edgar Milner’s 1912 feat of riding a bike up the steep Gill Brow climb without stopping.
Organized by Ryedale Velo Club and Big Bear Bikes, 41 riders, including six under-18s, took on the 1-in-3 gradients, with Mark Jagger posting the fastest time at 6:04 and Anna Jones the fastest women’s time at 11:51.
The event raised £235 for each of three local charities and highlighted Milner’s historic achievement, preserved today at the Ryedale Folk Museum.
