North Dakota created a council to tackle homelessness through better coordination and data-driven solutions.
On November 14, 2025, Governor Kelly Armstrong established the North Dakota Interagency Council on Homelessness to improve coordination among state agencies, service providers, and community stakeholders.
The 12-member council, led by Brandon Dettlaff and Jonathan Holth, will assess existing programs, identify service gaps, gather input from residents and advocacy groups, and recommend policy and resource changes.
It will report annually on progress and needed actions.
The move coincides with the proclamation of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, reflecting a statewide effort to address homelessness through collaboration and data-driven strategies.
