flag A Nebraska crash killed Hermelinda Reynoso; Alyssa Jeffrey survived, airlifted, seat belt worn.

A fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 33 south of Lincoln, Nebraska, late Thursday night killed 27-year-old Hermelinda Reynoso of Milford, who was not wearing a seat belt and is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. The eastbound Honda Accord Crosstour driver, 24-year-old Alyssa Jeffrey of Friend, was airlifted to a hospital in critical but stable condition and was wearing her seat belt. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating possible factors including speed, distraction, and alcohol. Highway 33 remained closed overnight for evidence collection. Meanwhile, no charges will be filed in a separate Nov. 7 crash that killed pediatrician Dr. Katherine Gogela, struck while crossing the MoPac Trail near 84th Street, as police found no evidence of impairment or excessive speed, and the driver cooperated fully.
