Nathan Hutch’s public intoxication conviction dismissed with probation due to trauma and addiction; requires three years of good behavior.
Nathan Hutch, 32, nephew of Gerry "The Monk" Hutch, had his conviction for public intoxication and aggressive behavior in Dublin dismissed under Ireland’s Probation of Offenders Act after an appeal.
The May 2024 incident involved Hutch, reportedly under the influence of cocaine and sleeping pills, fleeing officers and using obscenities.
He was serving an 18-month sentence for another offense and had 104 prior convictions, mostly traffic-related.
His defense cited trauma from his brother’s 2018 murder, anxiety, and efforts to treat addiction.
Judge Deirdre Browne granted a discharge, requiring three years of good behavior and 12 months of probation supervision with compliance to instructions; breaching terms would lead to sentencing.
