A Kansas woman admitted lying about an astronaut spouse hacking her bank account from space during a bitter divorce.

A Kansas woman, Summer Heather Worden, has pleaded guilty to lying about her estranged spouse, NASA astronaut Anne McClain, hacking her bank account from the International Space Station. Worden, 50, admitted in November 2025 that her 2019 claim was false, despite evidence she had shared her bank credentials with McClain as early as 2015 and both had used the account until January 2019. The NASA Office of Inspector General found no evidence of unauthorized access from space. The case, tied to a contentious divorce, was prosecuted by federal officials, and Worden faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine at her February 12, 2026, sentencing. She remains on bond.
