India and Paraguay pledged to strengthen cooperation in combating terrorism and cyber threats during their first Joint Commission Mechanism meeting in Asuncion on November 15, 2025, calling terrorism a serious threat to global peace.
The co-chaired talks, led by India’s Secretary (East) Periasamy Kumaran and Paraguay’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Victor Verdun, focused on enhancing security, cybersecurity, consular services, and investment in sectors like renewable energy, agriculture, ICT, public health, education, infrastructure, water management, and space.
Both nations agreed to deepen political and economic ties, advance the MERCOSUR-India Preferential Trade Agreement, and hold the next JCM session in New Delhi at a mutually agreed time.
