Ghana's opposition leader claims a Supreme Court judge threatened an MP during a judicial vetting, but the caucus chose not to act.
On November 14, 2025, Ghana’s Minority Leader Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin alleged a Supreme Court judge threatened MP Jerry Ahmed Shaib during the vetting of Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, saying the judge called Shaib his “nemesis.” Despite the seriousness, the Minority caucus decided not to pursue the claim.
Afenyo-Markin also said he has received threats targeting his law firm and judicial rulings, but vowed to continue defending democratic principles, citing historical precedent.
The allegations have raised concerns over judicial conduct and political intimidation in Ghana.
