The Deep Water Gallery in Wiarton, Ontario, hosts a Nov. 21 gala to raise funds and volunteers amid financial and land challenges.
The Deep Water Gallery in Wiarton, Ontario, is holding a fundraising gala on November 21 to address growing needs for financial support and volunteers.
Co-founded in 2019, the publicly funded gallery has hosted nearly 40 exhibitions and aims to expand its role as a community and economic driver.
The event, “Cocktails and Canvas,” will feature remarks from former First Nation chief Greg Nadjiwon and curator Kelly McDougall, who will present the gallery’s 2030 vision.
Challenges include a land dispute over an outdoor patio and overreliance on volunteers.
Co-founder Joe Vanderzand, providing free space until 2026, hopes the gala will grow donor and volunteer support.
Tickets are $50, with 15 remaining as of November 14, available via email or e-transfer.
