Colorado Parks and Wildlife is investigating the illegal killing of a Rocky Mountain bighorn ram in Saguache County on November 11, near Saguache County Road 38FF.
The ram, a half-curl male, was shot in Sheep Hunting Unit 10, where the legal hunting season had ended on October 2 and the sole available license had already been used.
The animal was left unharvested with no parts removed, and its meat was too spoiled to donate.
Poaching is a felony in Colorado, punishable by fines, jail time, and lifetime suspension of hunting privileges.
