Colombia buys 17 Swedish Gripen jets for $3.6B to replace old aircraft and boost regional security.
Colombia has signed a $3.6 billion contract with Swedish defense company Saab for 17 Gripen E/F fighter jets, including 15 single-seat and two two-seat variants, with deliveries from 2026 to 2032.
The deal, worth €3.1 billion, includes weapons, training, support, and two industrial offset agreements focused on aeronautics, cybersecurity, healthcare, sustainable energy, and water purification.
