Arizona closes several high-elevation highways for winter starting Nov. 15 due to snow and safety risks.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is closing several high-elevation highways for winter starting November 15, including SR 366 near Shannon Campground, SR 473 in the White Mountains on November 20, and SR 67 to the Grand Canyon’s North Rim on December 1. Additional closures are set for December 31 on SR 261 and SR 273. US 89A will remain open. These seasonal closures, due to snow and hazardous conditions, are annual safety measures. Drivers are urged to plan alternate routes and check official updates.
